Moultrie Camera Lock

Is your Moultrie Game Camera secure?
Will it still be in the woods when you return to check it?

Get a Moultrie Game Camera Lock and stop the worrying.

I was a victim of a game camera theft. It was my first game camera and I had it sitting smack dab in the middle of a 600 acre parcel of hardwoods I was leasing in a remote county. The thought that someone could steal my game cam never even crossed my mind. Well, it never crosses my mind anymore, because I won't set a game camera unless I have a lock for it. That first camera wasn't near as expensive as the game cameras I own now. I was lucky. Lucky because I learned my lesson by losing a less expensive camera.

The truth of the matter is that no game camera locking system will be capable of stopping every thief. The criminal with a set of lock cutters or a chainsaw is going to get what he is after. Most of the thefts that do occur are crimes of opportunity. Someone wanders past your game cam, and they end up walking off with it because it was an easy take.

I preach this message often, but it is worth repeating. Take precautions and lock your cameras.

I've been looking at the options for Moultrie Game Cameras and have seen some very security options worth mentioning.

Moultrie's MFH-CSB Camera Security Box is constructed of 18-gauge, powder-coated steel. It includes a 48 inch steel-braided and rubber-coated security cable with brass padlock and key. The box can be bolted to the tree with the included bolts. This security box helps to deter camera theft, and protects camera from animals like Bears. It is compatible with all Moultrie digital game cameras, and most other game camera brands. Made by Moultrie, this is a great option to protect your Moultrie Game Cameras.

There are also many third-party security boxes (like the one pictured above) that are compatible with Moultrie Digital Game Cameras. These security boxes provide multiple anchoring points for heavy duty cables. For added security, you can lag-bolt these boxes to the tree from the inside of the lock box. A thief is going to really have to work hard to walk off with a camera secured with one of these security boxes.

At a minimum, you should at least use a long shank lock and security cable to secure your camera via the locking hole in the camera housing. The security boxes will provide a much better level of security for your investment though.

Leaving an unlocked camera in the woods is like tacking 2 or 3 $100 bills to a tree, and hoping it will be there when you return. Be smart and be secure!
